Purpose
The purpose of Lyceum Tutoring is to provide an English-language, classical style enrichment program to homeschooling families in El Salvador. Through in person teaching in Playa San Blas, La Libertad, El Salvador and online classes that are available to anyone globally, we will use the library to teach children the how to read, how to think independently, and how to reason using works from the greatest minds in literature, philosophy, and history of the West.
Having spent years building a library of works in which we use for teaching everyday, the library includes classic literature, art, history, film, theater, and many other subjects. Ultimately, shipping the library down to El Salvador allows us to continue to use these books not only to build curriculum and teach, but to encourage children to read paper copies of books instead of spending more time reading on a tablet or electronic device.
Vision
Our vision for Lyceum Tutoring is to provide quality classical education to children in El Salvador and beyond. We also aspire to have a space in the beach area of El Salvador where families can come together. We envision a gathering space where children attend classes while parents utilize a workspace, can network, or just relax with a cup of coffee.
Support
With your support, we will ship down over 2,000 books that will be available to the children and the community through a lending library. Every book we send empowers and helps children unlock their potential. Our long-term goal is to continue making a positive impact in El Salvador and with your support, we can.
